 The
Town
Mount Maunganui is a small town of 14,000 people
on the East Coast of New Zealand's North Island, in
the Bay of Plenty. It is a popular tourist area, with
beautiful beaches suitable for boating, fishing, surfing
and swimming as well as other water sports. There
are excellent sporting facilities, restaurants and
leisure opportunities. The town is close to several
major cities: Auckland, Rotarua and Hamilton.
The feeling in the town is friendly and relaxed.
The weather is warm in summer and cool in winter.
Mount Maunganui has a long, beautiful white beach
and safe harbours.
